Assistant or Associate Professor of Russian Literature

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literature of the University of Chicago is pleased to announce an opening for a tenure-track or tenured position in Russian literature. We welcome applications from entry-level Assistant to recently tenured and promoted Associate Professor; PhD required. Preference will be given to candidates who specialize in eighteenth- or nineteenth-century Russian literature (prose, poetry or drama), but other specializations and periods will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Humanities Core and to our year-long survey of Russian literature in addition to teaching topical seminars at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Тhe successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, and mentoring students at all levels. A strong publication record is required for tenured candidates. Native to near-native Russian required.
