Assistant Professor in Russian

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month replacement position in Russian language, literature and culture at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning 1st July, 2012.

Applicants must have a PhD in hand at the time of appointment in Russian language, literature and culture or Slavic Studies with a specialization in Russian language, literature and culture, proven excellence in teaching and research and a publication record in the field of Russian, as well as native or near-native fluency in both Russian and English, or both Russian and French.

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution and preference will be given to candidates with a good command of both of Canada’s official languages. The successful candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate (Russian) and graduate (MA in World Literatures and Cultures) levels, and coordinate the Major and Minor in Russian Language and Culture. Salary will be in accordance with the University of Ottawa collective agreement.
