Visiting Assistant Professor in Russian

The Department of Russian Studies at Vassar College is looking for candidates to fill a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor / Instructor position starting in the 2014/15 academic year.

PhD (or equivalent) or ABD required. Primary duties include teaching Russian language, with a possibility to offer courses in literature and culture.

A strong record in teaching language at the undergraduate level is essential, as is willingness to make vigorous contributions to the extra-curricular program. The position is full-time, with benefits and 0 competitive salary. Teaching load is five courses per year.

Vassar is a highly selective, coeducational liberal arts college of about 2450 undergraduates (no graduate students) located in the beautiful and historic Hudson Valley seventy-five miles north of New York City. The city of Poughkeepsie benefits from rich cultural diversity and from convenient commuter rail access to New York City.
