Lecturer in Foreign Languages and Russian Language Coordinator

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Foreign Languages and Russian Language Coordinator, beginning fall 2011.

This is a full-time position which entails an initial one-year appointment that may be renewed for two more years upon satisfactory performance and then subsequent possibility of reappointment in three-year increments. Teaching load is five courses per year.

The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent, and must be able to teach all levels of Russian language and to coordinate and supervise other
instructors. We are looking for a dedicated, creative teacher who has significant experience with American students. Complete fluency in Russian and English is a necessity; as is knowledge of current pedagogical theory and practice, and competence with instructional
technology.
