Open-rank position in Russian Literature

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Indiana University, Bloomington, announces an open-rank faculty position in Russian literature, starting fall semester 2011.

Although area(s) of specialization are open, the successful candidate should have a strong background and interest in literary theory, native or near-native English and Russian, an attractive research agenda, and an established publication record; administrative experience is also a plus.

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher and scholar to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to supervise graduate students specializing in Russian literature, to contribute to the growth of a strong Russian literature program, and to promote the field in the wider university context. Standard teaching load is two courses per semester.

Current plans are to interview candidates at the 2010 AAASS conference in Los Angeles, after which a short list of candidates will be invited to the Bloomington campus for visits.
