Russian - English translator

RussTech Language Services, Inc. – a translation and interpreting company in Tallahassee FL – is seeking candidates for a full-time staff Russian - English translator. This is a permanent professional employment opportunity in a deadline driven office. Projected start date is 01 July 2013.

The duties of this position include:

♦ Translation of complex, highly technical source texts from Russian to English
♦ Assistance in expanding and maintaining our proprietary glossaries of terms, acronyms, and document titles
♦ Cross-training to become a technical editor and/or project manager
♦ Other tasks as assigned (filing, market research, blog writing, etc. as needed)

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

♦ A solid grasp of Russian grammar, syntax, and word formation as represented in professional writing
♦ Excellent writing skills in English
♦ Cheerfulness, dependability, and a good work ethic
♦ The ability to work independently and to complete assignments on schedule
♦ Minimum educational requirement: Master’s degree in a related discipline

A background in math and science will be extremely helpful, but is not required. Working knowledge of other foreign languages is a plus (we have completed assignments in over 60 languages).

The starting salary is negotiable depending on experience, but at a minimum − $30,000 per year.
