Russian Language Instructor for Summer Immersion Camp

Teacher Expectations: Russian language instructor for residential summer immersion camp. Eight hours a day, six days a week of instruction. Teacher will plan active, engaged lessons using a communicative approach to instruction appropriate for an immersion camp. Instruction will be given using a 90-10 model of Russian language. Curriculum framework will be based on the Georgia High School Performance Standards.

What: Arabic, Chinese, Russian, German, Korean, and French language academy taught by highly qualified teachers using Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) in an immersion, target language only approach

Date: Two cohort sessions of three-week duration. First Cohort: June 10-June 29; Second Cohort: July 8-July 27

How to Apply: Information for student application and teacher application procedures will be posted to the FSLA web site in January.

Class Ratio: 16 students to one teacher; Two cadet mentors (a cadet counselor in charge of supervision and fitness, and a cadet tutor proficient in the target language) will be assigned to each cohort language group.

Teacher Compensation: Free room and board provided (if desired); $1000 per week ($6000 total for two cohorts); Six days of instruction per week; Eight hours a day; Additional activities and study time will be planned for evenings.
